A Tribute to . . .
Edward R. "Ted" Carrell, Jr.
December 13, 1953 ~ October 11, 20006
Ted was a staff member at Medway Middle for 29 years. In 1977, he was the first Music Teacher. He conducted the MMS bands, as well as, teaching music to each grade level. He also taught several classes in Fine Arts, Photography, and Algebra. A few years ago, he began conducting the SHS Concert Band.
He will greatly be missed by all the staff, administration, and students here at MMS. If anyone ever qualified as a 'true' perfectionist, it was Ted. When he took on a task, he would be sure to follow it to completion and be sure that even the finest detail was taken care of. Achieving at his very 'BEST' could be seen in all his work and he passed that gift onto his students. This could witnessed at any concert or performance that you attended. Most students struggled with this, they felt as though he was asking too much of them. As the years passed many students would return to Ted and tell them that they were a better person because his teachings.
