5 GOALS FOR NUTRITION EDUCATION:
1.  Provide nutrition education 
2.  Provide foods that meet or exceed the federal nutrition standards, adequate time to eat, and a clean and safe meal environment.
3. Provide consistent nutrition messages
4. Provide appropriate professional development opportunities for staff
5. Provide free, safe, unflavored drinking water to all students throughout the school day and throughout the building.
8 GOALS FOR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
1. PE program will provide students of all abilities the knowledge and skills to be physically fit
2. PE curriculum will be aligned with the Maine Learning results
3. Provide physical and social environment that encourages responsible, personal and social behaviors
4. Provide safe facilities and staff adequate to implement PE
5. Promote efforts to provide opportunities for students
6. Provide opportunities, at least one per athletic season, for physical activity through a variety of before/after school programs
7. Provide professional development for PE staff
8. PE classes will keep all students involved in purposeful activity.
9 GOALS FOR OTHER SCHOOL-BASED ACTIVITIES
1.  Wellness policy will be considered when planning events and parties
2. Parents will be encouraged to provide nutritionally sound foods from home
3. Will encourage maximum participation in school meal programs and physical activity
4. Encourage parents to support their child's participation in appropriate physical activity
5. School facilities will be available, as appropriate, to allow for student, parent and community use.
6. School staff will be encouraged to serve as role models
7. Student organizations will be encouraged to engage in fundraising projects that are supportive to healthy eating and student wellness
8. All school-based marketing will meet or exceed the USDA smart snacks standards
9. Encouraged to cooperate with outside agencies and community organizations to support programs.
